プレゼンテーションをありがとうございました。優遇措置が用意されていることはわかりました。「ケースバイケースで」という表現は、交渉の余地があるという理解でいいのでしょうか？

👩Henry, please… Dr. Patel, you mentioned a land-cost subsidy when starting from the ground up. Iroha-Romano is buying a pre-owned facility, already geared toward automotive production. Will this count as “ground up” ?
ヘンリー、頼むから・・・パテルさん、一から始める場合の土地代補助のお話をされましたね。いろはロマーノは、すでに自動車生産向けに作られた中古の施設を購入するのですが、これは「一から始める場合」に相当するのでしょうか？
👳Technically, no, but it’s negotiable. If you can accommodate 6,000 local jobs, we make a special arrangement.
厳密にはノーですが、交渉の余地はあります。現地の6,000人分の雇用を確保できるのであれば、特別な取り決めをしますよ。
👨6,000… Is there a guideline on this ? Why 6,000 ?
6,000人・・・この数字には何か目安があるのでしょうか？なぜ6,000人なのですか？
👳Well, no. This is a number we consider appropriate, judging from the scale of Iroha-Romano.
いえ、目安はありません。これは、いろはロマーノの規模から判断して、我々が適切と思った数字です。

交渉は、雇用をどのくらい確保できるのか、という点に的が絞られています。
👩Regarding the number of jobs we can create, our initial plan is 4,500. With facility constraints, this number we cannot change.
当社が創出できる雇用数については、当初は4,500人を予定していました。設備の制約もあって、この数字は変えられません。

👨Dr. Patel, say, for example, we bring in one of our suppliers with us. If they employ another 1,500 people, can we hit the target of 6,000 with two companies ?
パテルさん、あの、例えば、当社のサプライヤーを１社連れてきたとしましょう。そのサプライヤーがさらに1,500人を雇用すれば、２社で目標の6,000人を達成できるのでしょうか？
👩Or can we invest in and increase the capacity of one of our existing suppliers in Chennai to accommodate 1,500 more people ?
あるいは、チェンナイにある既存のサプライヤーの１社に投資してそのサプライヤーの能力を高め、さらに1,500人を受け入れることは可能でしょうか？
👳That sounds like a reasonable proposal. I cannot make any promises, but I’ll assure you I will ask the governor to be as flexible as possible.

👨Thank you, Doctor. I can’t say for sure, but we might be able to get more of our suppliers on board. This would make numbers like 9,000 or 10,000 attainable targets.
